Rising Star FA from Republic of Korea - B16, B15, B12, B11 & G16
Tell us briefly the history of your club/team?
At RSFA we are one big family, a family that started in 2008 when parents who knew founder James McAloon asked him to host some formal practice sessions for their children in Ulsan. Soon news spread of the quality and enjoyment from the sessions and now in 2016 RSFA holds 30 plus weekly sessions in 3 cities across Korea. More sessions and cities have joined the fun, but the focus has not changed. RSFA provides for every child be they a beginner or a player looking to push forward to college scholarships, or a professional career.
RSFA is attended by local players as well as by international students from across the globe who are based in Korea due to their parents work commitments, on our summer tour in 2016 we will be representing Korea, USA, England, Australia, Brazil, Wales, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Cameroon, Malaysia, Singapore, Ireland and New Zealand.
All our coaches have, or are working toward advanced internationally accredited coaching badges and the program is directed with learning as our primary focus. Our pathway is modelled on the Football Federation Australia FFA, Football Coaching Process as well as drawing on the expertise of coaches experience from UEFA, FA, FAI and CONCAF approaches to coaching.
Our mission is to inspire and develop every rising star that we coach.
Is it your first time at the Dana Cup if not how many times has your club participated?
This will be our first visit to the Dana Cup, however this will be our third European Summer Tour, in 2014 and 2015 we visited the Norway Cup. We were the first team ever from Korea to enter the Norway Cup and believe we may the first from Korea to enter the Dana Cup? This is a special thing for us as we wish to demonstrate to our players that anything is possible, when they see their dreams or goals it does not matter that something has not been done before anything is possible. We would like to thank everyone from Dana Cup for being so welcoming and we are excited to see the beautiful town of Hjørring.
What are your goals and expectations for the Dana Cup 2016?
We are very excited to be attending the Dana Cup in 2016, for the past two summers when attending the Norway Cup some of our players who live in Korea but who are originally from Denmark and they strongly recommended that in our third summer tour we also joined the Dana Cup, the RSFA team thought it would be a great idea. We are excited to compete this year at the Dana Cup we know it will be fun, rewarding and challenging, but primarily we want to play good football and if we play good football and have fun we may well be able to make something happen.
Rising Star FA, James McAloon - Welcome to the Dana Cup 2016.
